Saverio P. Mirarchi
Saverio P. (Sam) Mirarchi concentrates his practice in commercial real estate and government affairs, with a focus on regulatory compliance. Prior to joining the firm, Sam’s legal career focused on public service, which most recently, included the past 16 years with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General (OAG), Bureau of Consumer Protection as a Senior Deputy Attorney General and Assistant Director for General Litigation.
As a Deputy Attorney General, Sam conducted statewide civil investigations and litigated enforcement actions against businesses for violations of state and federal laws and regulations. While fulfilling his duties to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, he managed OAG agents and worked as part of a team of attorneys in conducting civil investigations and prosecuting business entities for civil violations of Pennsylvania and federal laws including the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law. Specifically he enforced state and federal laws prohibiting unfair and deceptive business practices involving debt collection, residential landlords and tenants, towing, price gouging, lenders, automotive dealerships, automotive repair facilities, home improvement contractors, among many others. Sam has acted as lead attorney in litigation which commenced in various state and federal courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and has appeared in United States Bankruptcy Court in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Texas.
A lifelong Philadelphia resident, Sam has worked in public service throughout his legal career. Prior to joining the OAG, he served as Director of Legislation in the office of Philadelphia City Councilman Frank Rizzo, Jr., for nearly five years. As Director of Legislation for Councilman Rizzo, Sam managed the day-to-day legislative operations of the Councilman’s office. In 2004, he became a candidate for the Pennsylvania State Senate, in the 5th Senatorial District. A sought after presenter, Sam frequently speaks on topics in areas involving compliance with various consumer protection laws and regulations.
Sam is admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States of America, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He graduated from La Salle University in 1996 with a BA in Political Science. He received his JD from Widener University School of Law in 1999.
Outside of his law practice, Sam enjoys serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus in northeast Philadelphia and coaching his sons’ CYO soccer teams. He lives in Huntingdon Valley with his wife and two children.
