
As an experienced transactional attorney, Jonathan C. Wargo advises clients on a wide array of business and corporate matters. With a focus on mergers and acquisitions, Jon represents businesses and investors across industries in structuring, negotiating, and closing complex transactions, including strategic acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures. In addition to his M&A practice, Jon counsels clients on all matters relating to business formation, corporate governance, capital raising, equity compensation and day-to-day business operations.
Prior to joining the firm, Jon worked in the private equity groups of two highly-ranked AmLaw 100 law firms where he represented private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and institutional investors in middle-market, large-cap and cross-border transactions. Jon’s experience also includes advising veterinary and healthcare-focused private equity funds, institutional investors, and emerging growth companies in transactions exceeding several billions of dollars in aggregate value.
Jon earned his J.D., cum laude, from Rutgers School of Law–Newark, where he served as the Commentaries Editor of the Rutgers Law Review, and his B.S. in Environmental Policy from Rutgers University. Outside the office, Jon enjoys playing blues guitar, watching soccer and spending time with his wife and kids at their home in New Jersey.
