 12/11:  Semanoff Ormsby Greenberg & Torchia, LLC. is pleased to announce two of its attorneys, Alfredo M. Sergio and Craig M. Chernoff have become Members of our Firm.  Alfredo M. Sergio, who joined the firm in 2005 is an attorney in the Employment Law and Commercial Litigation groups at Semanoff Ormsby Greenberg & Torchia, LLC.  Mr. Sergio regularly represents business clients on a national basis in employment matters related to race, disability, gender, age, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, sexual harassment and retaliation.  Mr. Sergio also represents business clients in matters involving commercial contract disputes, business torts, restrictive covenants, and UCC claims. Craig M. Chernoff, who joined the firm in 2003, is an attorney in the Corporate and Real Estate groups at Semanoff Ormsby Greenberg & Torchia, LLC. and concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and financing. 

5.31.11  Semanoff Ormsby Greenberg & Torchia, LLC Announces Formation of Three New Practice Groups.  Semanoff Ormsby Greenberg & Torchia, LLC announces the formation of its Health Care Law, Non-profit Law, and Arts, Entertainment & Media Law practice groups. The firm has a longer history in the non-profit and the arts and entertainments areas, but recently decided to formalize these practices as well, and to begin marketing the firm’s expertise in these areas as stand-alone practice groups. 

The members of the firm’s non-profit law group counsel clients including public charities, healthcare institutions, arts organizations, private foundations and a variety of other non-profit organizations on the challenges particular to 501(c) nonprofit organizations. The firm has provided guidance to its non-profit clients regarding governance matters, charitable giving issues, state and federal reporting requirements, government audits and investigations, and other matters.

The firm’s arts, entertainment & media law group represents a variety of individuals, including artists, athletes, and writers, from emerging talent to iconic names, as well as a number of arts and entertainment-related entities, such as arts organizations, loan-out companies, web design firms, arts agencies, and suppliers to various television networks and performing arts venues. The members of the group have experience in television news and reality programming, documentary and feature film, sports commentating, endorsement deals, public art commissions, artist-agent agreements, publishing and literary rights, fine and performing arts, and all aspects of intellectual property protection and licensing.

On April 16, 2009, Sellei discussed “The Art of the Deal: What You Need to Know About Contracts” with the Philadelphia Chapter of Women in Insurance and Financial Services, at a meeting of the group held at the Huntingdon Valley Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, PA.
