Biography: Mr. Smith graduated cum laude from Temple University School of Law in 1991, and a magnum cum laude from Temple University with a degree in psychology. After several years of practicing law in Philadelphia, Peter joined Semanoff Ormsby Greenberg & Torchia, LLC in 1998. His current practice concentrates in the areas of corporate law, business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, commercial finance, debtor/creditor relations, real estate and estate planning. He counsels clients, large and small, including businesses involved in manufacturing, distribution, marketing, commercial finance, pharmaceutical research, professional services, real estate management and development, construction, retail, e-commerce and technology. In addition, Mr. Smith has experience with start-up ventures, family-owned businesses, limited liability companies and non-profit organizations. He also represents individuals and families in estate and business succession planning. In June 2009, Mr. Smith was selected for inclusion
in the 2009 Super Lawyers. Super Lawyers is a listing
of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition
and professional achievement. The attorneys featured in Super
Lawyers were selected by their peers in an extensive nomination
and polling process and through independent research conducted by Law
& Politics and published in the June 2009 issue of Pennsylvania
Super Lawyers magazine and a special advertising section in the June
2009 issue of Philadelphia magazine. The attorneys listed in
Super Lawyers are limited to 5% of the practicing attorneys in
Pennsylvania. In addition to his legal practice, Peter has taught as an adjunct professor in the Legal and Real Estate Studies Department at Temple University. He has interned for two federal judges; the Honorable Herbert Hutton in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Honorable Joseph Rodriguez in the United States District Court in Camden. Mr. Smith is active in his community and church, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as the President and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Business Network Group, an organization promoting business-to-business referrals in Bucks and Montgomery Counties. |
